Unlikely Hero Emerges
With the game tied at 116-116 and just seconds remaining, little-known guard Theo Pinson found himself with the ball in his hands. Pinson, who had played sparingly throughout the playoffs, calmly drained a game-winning three-pointer to give the Mavs the 117-116 victory.
Pinson's heroics came as a surprise to many, including the Timberwolves. The 26-year-old had never attempted a three-pointer in the playoffs before Saturday night.
After the game, Pinson credited his teammates for giving him the confidence to take the shot.
"I just wanted to win the game," Pinson said. "My teammates believed in me, and I believed in myself."
